“1 Step Back To Take 2 Steps Forward” – These Villa Fans Are Thrilled With 26 y/o’s International News

|

With England manager Gareth Southgate naming his squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 clashes with Bulgaria and Kosovo, the main question on the lips of Aston Villa fans was would any of our other players potentially make the cut.

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton was a shoe in really given his involvement in recent years, but we had question marks over Jack Grealish and Tyrone Mings.

As we now know Grealish didn’t receive the call this time but with further improvements as we all adjust to life back in the top flight, it should really only be a matter of time. Mings was a different story though as he got his maiden call and Southgate perfectly summed up the decision to bring him on board when speaking to the press and discussing his left sided nature, leadership qualities, as well as having significant room to further improve his game.

With the 26-year-old admitting he thought it was a ‘prank’ and being bowled over when he realised it was genuine, given his standing at B6 already amongst the fans, plenty couldn’t have been more proud of him.
